Educator, author and global inclusion advocate Shaun Dellenty (blog https://shaundellenty.blog/) was twice named by the Independent on Sunday as of the '101 most influential U.K. LGBT figures' and he was bestowed the Freedom of the City of London in 2021. Also named one of the Top 100 Global Leaders in Diversity and Inclusion and in 2020 listed Top 20 Guardian Global Diversity List alongside Barack Obama, Kamala Harris and Jacinda Ardern. In 2016 he was honoured by the U.K. Prime Minister for services to education and LGBT+ communities. Shaun is a qualified ex primary school leader, LGBT+ inclusion in schools training provider, inspirational speaker, blogger, presenter, meditator, writer and pioneering advocate for LGBT+ inclusion in education. His first book 'Celebrating Difference- A Whole School Approach to LGBT+ Inclusion' was recommended by Lord Michael Cashman in the House of Lords and in 2021 it was placed on Learning Ladders Top 10 Best Books for Teachers and School Leaders. Shaun's advocacy was triggered in 2009 when his (then) London primary school found via pupil voice surveys that 75% of primary aged pupils experienced daily homophobia. Using this data as a trigger Shaun ‘came out’ as gay to his school community and he devised the ‘Inclusion For All’ programme, training global educators to facilitate personal, cultural and organisational change in respect of compassionate and intersectional LGBT+ inclusion. Shaun has now worked with countless UK and overseas primary and secondary schools, faith schools, teacher training faculties and many other educational and global business contexts, including work at education committee and government policy level. Shaun's work has been recommended by the Department of Education, OFSTED, Amnesty International, Church of England and Faiths and Beliefs Forum. Shaun recounts his inspiring personal story of surviving and ultimately thriving after childhood homophobic bullying to audiences around the world; his work appears in the national and international media and television (including 'Our School' for CBBC) and he has written for numerous publications including The Huffington Post, Times Education Supplement, The Guardian and Thomson Reuters. Shaun is a regular speaker at business diversity networks, LGBT+ Pride, hate-crime and human rights, anti-bullying and education conferences. His first acclaimed, highly compassionate book 'Celebrating Difference-A Whole School Approach to LGBT+ Inclusion' published by Bloomsbury Education May 2019 marks the first time he has captured his own journey in book form. The book features enquiry questions, case studies and testimonials from many of those who have undertaken Shaun's inspirational training. The book serves to tackle our human potential for bias and prejudice in an intersectional manner and is also relevant to contemporary discussions of race and broader concepts of human diversity. In 2020 the Bishopsgate Insitute in London established a legacy archive of Shaun's LGBT+ advocacy at https://www.bishopsgate.org.uk/collections/shaun-dellenty-archive
