Rohina Hoffman is an award-winning fine art photographer who was born in India and raised in New Jersey. She grew up in a family of doctors spanning three generations. She attended Brown University and, while there, also studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. A graduate of Brown University Medical School and resident at UCLA Medical Center, her training led to a career as a neurologist.
While honing her observational skills with her patients, Rohina was instilled with a deep and unique appreciation of the human experience. Her ability to forge the sacred trust between doctor and patient has been instrumental in fostering a parallel connection between photographer and subject.
Rohina’s photographs have been exhibited in juried group shows both nationally and internationally. Accompanying the launch of her book, she had a solo show of Hair Stories at Brown University Alpert Medical School (February - May 2019). Hair Stories is held in many public collections and university libraries. She has been published in Lenscratch, Marie Claire Italia, F-Stop, Daily Beast, LAWeekly, Shots Magazine, and Edge of Humanity among others. In her down time, she volunteers with the YMCA and takes photographs for Pink Portrait Project. She lives with her husband, three children and two golden retrievers in Los Angeles.
