Cao Xiaoping

柳上惠，本名曹小平（Cao, Xiao Ping），北京人，1970年畢業於清華大學土木建築系。

曾在湖北城市建設部門搞設計與施工，技術員。後調武漢工業大學任教。

1983年講師。1985年任建築系制圖教研室主任。1989年移民加拿大溫哥華至今。

自幼愛好中國歷史，地理，古典小說詩歌。2006年以來有眾多詩歌發表於溫哥華中文報刊。

主張今人寫近體詩講求格律，用平水韻，推重意境。能以各種題目入詩，別開生面。亦有少量自由體新詩。

Liu Shanghui, is pen name for Cao Xiaoping, a Pekinese. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at Qihua University in 1970.

He was a technician, specializing in design and construction in the Department of City Construction in Hubei. He was subsequently transferred to the Industrial University in Wuhan City and was promoted to the position of Lecturer in 1983. In 1985 he served as a Director of Design in the Department of Civil Engineering; in 1989 he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, where he lives to this day.

Since Childhood Liu Xiahui loved Chinese history, geography, classical Chinese novels and poetry. He started publishing poetry since 2006 in the Chinese newspapers in Vancouver.

He is also a Web writer for Cool-Me North American Maple and a General Editor for the Website, Old Rhyming and New Sound, featuring nearly a thousand published poems.

For modern people he advocates writing regular or classical poetry in the rhyming system called “Pingshui,” stressing imagery; he is capable of writing about all subjects, opening up new fields. He has also penned a small number of modern verses.
