Paula C. Deckard

Paula was born in Hamburg, Germany, where she started journaling at the age of ten. After messing up her years at grammar school, she escaped to England to complete high school and attend university.

In 2006, she wrote a short story that required the protagonist to connect with an object. The story involved an obsessive-compulsive doctor and a bloodstained bandaid. Her professor found it so humorous that he told her to develop it into something greater. And she did. The doctor became a junior heart surgeon, and the story became a chapter in Paula's novel.

She attended Goldsmiths, University of London, with the first draft of "Heart Like A Hole." She primarily writes dark literary and transgressive fiction and loves connecting with writers who appreciate these genres.

Paula is currently lost in Canada.
