Luanne Oleas

Luanne Oleas was born in Steinbeck's Salinas Valley in California, the setting for her book, FLYING BLIND: A CROPDUSTER'S STORY, released by Sand Hill Review Press in November 2019. It won the East of Eden Writers Conference novel-writing contest and the 2018 San Mateo County Fair Publishers Choice award for new novels. Her genres include literary, contemporary, and family saga fiction.

Her first novel, A PRIMROSE IN NOVEMBER, is available in paperback and ebook format. It depicts a likable Englishman who feels drawn and quartered by his family responsibilities and his relationships. He works the family estate in Sussex but escapes to France after his father dies, only to return to his land being stolen by a crooked local magistrate (with the unwitting aid of his stepbrothers.)

The author lives in the Silicon Valley with her husband, a former cropduster, and Blackberry the cat. She has written five novels (3 unpublished) and numerous short stories. She currently works full-time on her novels, and previously worked as a reporter, features writer, and humor columnist for The Californian, a Gannett newspaper and then as a technical writer. Several of her newspaper columns have been reprinted in Readers Digest, Parenting Magazine, The San Jose Mercury, and on the Web.
