John Tissandier is a retired computing lecturer who lives in Totnes, Devon. He was born in France but moved to England at the age of five. He studied science and philosophy at the University of Surrey and has been inspired by nondual teachings from Parmenides to Sri Ramana Maharshi.
He began writing poems during his teens, but after some years, he went off poetry. One day, in London, he bravely confessed this to Brian Patten (one of the prominent Liverpool poets) when they were the only two people left at a poetry reading. Brian said this had happened to some of his best friends, but prophesied that the love of writing poetry would return. And so it did many years later, when John retired and moved to Totnes.
As well as poems, John writes short stories, which one reviewer likened to "Zen Flesh Zen Bones, Black Mirror, and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy"; and another to the work of Jorge Luis Borges.
John's other creative outlets include photography and playing guitar (he was born the year of the Fender Telecaster – the first mass-produced, solid-body electric guitar).
Some of his poems, stories and aarticles have been published in Caduceus, International Times, Self Enquiry and Universalist. His three books, “TWO to ONE”, "FUTURE LOVE", and "BECOMING THE SKY" are available from Amazon.
