Lauren Johnson

Lauren Johnson is a writer and editor with a 35‑year career spanning roles from vice president of corporate communications to editor of fiction and nonfiction books. After moving to the Black Hills five years ago, she added magazine writing to her repertoire, contributing articles to publications throughout South Dakota.

Her award‑winning book, Flying Lessons: A Single Mom’s Guide to Empty Nesting, is a two‑time Transformational Author Experience Award recipient and now in its second edition. Lauren’s writing continues to explore themes of women’s discovery, resilience, and adventure.

As an editor, she guides authors and entrepreneurs through every stage of the publishing process. Known as an “Editorial Angel” by the director of the Alliance for Independent Authors, Lauren is dedicated to helping writers craft their strongest work and experience genuine author joy along the way.
