Manata Hashemi

Manata Hashemi is a sociologist, ethnographer, and writer. Currently Assistant Professor of Iranian Studies at the University of Oklahoma, her research and writing centers experiences of poverty, inequality, and stigma, particularly among Middle Easterners.

Her writing and work have appeared in the Conversation, Muftah, Qualitative Sociology, and the International Journal of Urban and Regional Studies, among many others.
