Kris Girrell

An avid student of life, as seen through the lenses of psychology and theology, my writing is the result of cross mapping of my work in executive coaching, a long legacy of leading and participating in men's work (what does it mean to be masculine, a father, a brother, a husband and a son) and a deep devotion to leadership development. I draw much from the world of theology because of its several thousand years of practicing the principles of leadership. And all of this is informed by living, falling flat on my face, listening to elders and exploring this world to learn from other peoples and cultures.

When I am not writing, I am either traveling, working or dragging my body to a gym in an effort to maintain its ability to perform despite far too many athletic injuries, broken bones and concussions. Living life to its fullest is a process of giving away what has been give so graciously to me, what I have learned in the formal and informal classrooms, and running a charity helping others who have been marginalized by the structures of our global economy. And I rarely have time (or wish to take the time) to sit in front of a television. Life is out here and waiting to be lived.
