Nursing Churchill is based on the wartime letters of my mother Doris Miles, who nursed the Prime Minister during a severe bout of pneumonia in 1943. It has been praised by leading Churchill experts including WSC biographer Andrew Roberts, who has called it a “fine and fun book.”

Operation Roadrunner: A Novel of Nuclear Espionage is a posthumous reworking by my sister and I of an unpublished novel written by our late uncle Richard Miles RNVR, inspired by by his wartime experiences and his personal acquaintance with notorious Soviet spy Donald Maclean. Sir Mark Lyall Grant GCMG, former UK National Security Adviser, has called the book "an enthralling spy thriller . . . an exciting and fast-paced novel."

I was born in London in 1947, and spent part of my childhood in Jamaica. I earned a B.Sc.degree in mathematics from University College, London, and worked as a computer programmer in Canada and Washington DC before moving with my husband Allen to the Big Island of Hawaii, where we spent ten years running a small macadamia nut orchard. We now live in south Florida.

I enjoy cats, cryptic crosswords, yoga and reading, particularly anything involving history. Allen and I love to travel; we've been to over eighty countries, every continent and all fifty of the United States.

Like Winston Churchill, I have always loved the English language. I enjoy writing parodies, poems and travel blogs for my family and friends, and get a kick out of clever, witty wordplay.
