"The Little Girl Who Lost Her Words" is my first picture book! This book is about a shy little girl who had a hard time expressing herself. It was inspired by my granddaughter, Ava, who sometimes felt very shy and just couldn't find her words. She eventually learned it was safe to speak among adults and children.

So many children struggle with shyness and I wanted to share this story to let them know it was "safe to use your words." Discussion questions at the back of the book were developed to prompt conversation among young students and teachers, parents and grandparents. The book has been well-received by local libraries and schools. The book is beautifully illustrated with soft pastels by Sue Griggs-Bailey.

It has been an amazing journey writing and publishing the book. I enjoy going to schools and libraries reading to the children and the discussion afterwards. My favorite question was from a second grader "is it fiction or non-fiction"? Ava has enjoyed reading the book at schools and libraries and being a part of many book festivals.

I am recently retired and currently working on my second picture book in the series, "The Little Boy Who Found His Role". Based on my talented, young grandson who discovers the joy of acting. The book is scheduled for a release in Spring 2020.
