Ten Thousand Secrets National Park (Book One in the Apple Island Series) is an eco-fiction thriller set in the USA heartland - today, tomorrow, & yesterday. This story is a distillation of my work experience and daily life, mingled with the notions that we are immersed in magic, and that a closer relationship to nature helps us regain access to the magic portals surrounding us.

Science, religion, mathematics and philosophy are other tools for trying to catch up to what is forever just around the corner and out of sight. But I prefer the nightingale’s song that, according to poet John Keats, reminds us of “Charm'd magic casements, opening on the foam/Of perilous seas, in faery lands forlorn.”

Back in my academic years as a geographer, I co-authored the first editions of the geography textbook that Amazon has tagged me with. I wrote a short sci-fi essay as my epilogue for that textbook - a promise to myself to write Ten Thousand Secrets National Park – finally here in 2020. Hope you enjoy it!
