Wayne Pinger

Wayne Pinger was born in 1941 in Chicago, his family moved to Southern California in 1953. After barely making it thru High School he married Jeanette Hayton, his High School sweetheart. Together they attacked the Status-quo and moved to Northern California to seek their fortune. For 13 mind-numbing years they endured life in Santa Cruz where he worked as an industrial glass blower for a small electronics firm.

In 1972, their now family of four, plus dogs, cats, and one turtle, moved to Fairbanks Alaska where he joined the Electronics Lab at the Geophysical Institute, University of Alaska. The cabin in the woods came easy and 4 years later they bought a small airplane and discovered the freedom of flight.

Wayne and his wife retired in from America's last frontier 1996 and moved to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. After the realization that golf was not the road to a mind enriching retirement, he started writing short stories. These were entertaining to family and friends and about one year later, he graduated to full length manuscripts. His aviation experiences and friends, and interaction with several less than wholesome individuals involved in the world of flying, became the basis of his first book series: The "Angel's Alaska Trilogy.

These books are fictional stories but anchored around his Bush Flying experience in Alaska and the time he and his wife owned and operated a General Store; a gas station, laundromat and gift shop, in the Goldstream Valley, a suburb of Fairbanks.

Angel, a very smart Shepherd, was with them for a short period of time. She became a character in the Trilogy; his first writings are about their time in the General Store in the Goldstream Valley. "Angel's Diamonds" was the first book, followed one year later by "Angel's Treasure", and then finally to complete the Trilogy, "Angel's Odyssey".

Recently Wayne and his wife moved to Grants Pass Oregon where he started writing a new series; a detective series, with several of his favorite characters borrowed from the Trilogy.

"Maddie's Run" was the first book in the new series; Carter Smithson P-I. it's a novel about the kidnapping of a girl's-basketball team and a father's efforts of rescue. "Shirley's dilemma" followed and "Justin's Folly", his latest, are also now in publication. The fourth book, an unnamed manuscript in the early process of writing.

'I will continue to write until the stories and characters flee my imagination; I wish my readers good luck and God's speed in life's lottery; I wish them prosperity, and most of all, good reading'.
