Ruwan Rajapakse (b. 1975) is a first-time fiction author and independent management consultant with a focus on software business analysis and product design. Born and raised in Sri Lanka, he lived through the 1987–1990 Marxist insurrection—a formative experience that inspired his debut novella, The Blue-striped Shirt.
A lifelong admirer of Victorian literature, especially the works of Charles Dickens, Ruwan is also an avid reader of thrillers by authors such as Ken Follett and Sidney Sheldon. His writing blends a passion for history, narrative depth, and emotionally complex characters. He is currently at work on a sequel to The Blue-striped Shirt.
Ruwan has published opinion pieces on current affairs and technology management in The Sunday Times and The Island, and has written extensively on these subjects through his blog. He is the author of the non-fiction book Evolving Apps, a reflection on lessons learned over 25 years in software development. He also maintains OneBigWorld, a technical blog where he explores topics in artificial intelligence and software engineering.
