Frank Van Buren

Frank Van Buren was born in Washington D.C. in 1966, but spent nine out of the first thirteen years of his life on a U.S. military base in Germany. Frank was the youngest child in a large and close-knit family, and they traveled throughout Europe and experienced many wonderful people and cultures. From his earliest memories as a child living on an U.S. Army base in Zweibrucken, Germany, the military community was filled with camaraderie, fellowship, common objectives and a sense of purpose.

Frank attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania from 1984-88, where he earned a B.S. in Business Management in May 1988, and was selected as team captain and earned All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-American football honors.

Post college, Frank served in the U.S. Army for six years as a UH-60 BlackHawk helicopter pilot, profiled in "Life Lessons From The Cockpit."

Frank departed the U.S. Army in 1996, and enrolled in the Kenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned an MBA in 1998. Post MBA, Frank has worked in the finance industry for over 20 years in Investment Banking and Sales & Trading.
