Tommy L Heath

Tommy Heath, a native of Georgia, graduated from Valdosta State University in 1981 with a BS in Physics. During his 34-year career with the Department of Defense (DoD), he often traveled to many countries in Asia and Europe. Traveling to these countries allowed him to experience many different cultures and lifestyles. This experience prompted him to research the origins of Native Americans. During his career, he expanded and matured his writing skills as he corresponded with DoD leadership, wrote research papers, and developed technical documents. It was during the latter part of his career that he decided to write fiction. To expand into fiction, he took course work in “Writing Great Fiction: Storytelling Tips and Techniques” by Professor James Hynes. Propelled by a love of family and respect for history, he decided to write “The Legend of the Broken Arrow”. Many years were spent researching Native American history and culture before he attempted to write this work. In 1998, Tommy Heath, was first published in the book “Cen-Silver Celebration” which was a history of the founding of the author's home town, Hazlehurst, Georgia. His latest book, "Shades of Arrogance and Innocence" continues his theme of writing about young people who are struggling to grow up and discover who they are and how they fit into their family and society.
