Tomorrow, March 2, 2019 will be an exciting day for me. Tomorrow is debut day for
MY FRIEND DOC IS A VETERINARIAN. This book has been in the works since Doc, aka Dr. Shananne Edwards, DVM of Arizona Small Animal Hospital in South Tucson, AZ read my first book, MY FRIEND KATE IS A FOREST RANGER.
Maybe you didn't know that in the U.S. there are 179 medical schools and only 31 vet schools.
Last Friday, the first copies of MY FRIEND DOC arrived. It's a big thrill to publish. Research for me is reading with a purpose. I like it. It's important to me that I still hear the questions and voices of the elementary school kids in my head as I write. My intended audience is the 7-12 year -old who likes the challenge of math and science and is proud of it.
I have a B.A. in Elementary Education from Trenton State College, New Jersey and an M.Ed. Reading, from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. In 2011, I helped to create an
all volunteer library for Pinedale, Arizona. It's now the real deal, part of the Navajo County Library District.
