Now as you prepare to read my story, I want to let you know that my father and mother raised me in the way that I was supposed to go, but something happened. Because of that something, I did not want to go in the right direction. I chose to turn and go another way. My father was a pastor, so yes, I was a preacher's kid. What we call "PK" for short. Some say preachers' kids are the worst kids. This is not always true but may be true for some. Well, I was one of the worst kids, the one that got in trouble and stayed in trouble. My choices were not my parents' fault. They raised me in the way that I was supposed to go. They raised me the way the Bible teaches parents to raise their children. They raised me in the way that I should have gone. I just didn't want to go the way they were going.
I am not a writer, but the Lord spoke to me one day to write my story.
I said, “I am not a writer. I don't like to write.” I said, “People couldn’t care less about me or my story!” I felt that sharing my past would just give them more to gossip about. I did not think about my story as a testimony to show the glory of God.
I have to let someone know that he or she is not alone. Is that someone you? For whoever and whatever purpose that God wanted me to write this book, I finally said, “Yes, Lord!”
I am, now, the founder of “Reaching Out! Outreach Ministry,” a non-profit organization that I operate with the assistance of my husband, Larry Roach, my children and other family members. I was called, qualified and appointed by God to go out into the highways and the hedges to compel sinners to come to Jesus. I operate in many gifts of the Spirit, including the gift of prophecy. The Holy Spirit is my covering. My ministry reaches out to help the homeless, addicts, the broken and other people in need. I have a heart for the hurting people who are in need of the Healer and Deliverer, God Almighty.
Reaching Out! Outreach Ministry gives back to the Greensboro community, providing contact information for helpful resources such as: food pantries, rehab clinics, emergency crisis assistance, domestic violence assistance and shelter, mental health behavior assistance, counseling, food and clothing, and other helpful information. Whatever the crisis is, there is help.
I teach that God can heal, deliver and set free, no matter the crisis. Our ministry also provides clothing, food, other gifts and spiritual reading material to various communities within and around Greensboro, even on street corners.
We minister in Kingdom work with love, singing, praise dance, the spoken word, and above all, prayer. My goal is to watch God deliver, heal, save and set free the men, women and children who are lost. I am on an assignment from the Lord. “Keep reaching out, because you may help pull someone out of darkness and guide them into the light.” My two favorite scriptures are: “No weapon formed against me shall prosper,” Isaiah 54:17, and “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.
My motto: “If we meet and you forget me, you have lost nothing. But if you meet Jesus Christ and forget about him you have lost everything.”
