Gerrit Cloete

Gerrit Cloete is an hard-working lazy person. He works very hard at finding ways to get the right things done - easier, better and faster. And when he finds something, the teacher in him takes over, and he just has to share it with as many people as possible.

His first book, Productivity 106 : Reflections on Maximum Results, Minimum Effort, is a collection of 106 of his popular weekly 'Monday Memo'. These reflections have found their way into the hearts and minds of his followers, who find it inspirational and uplifting.

Gerrit likes to reflect on his experiences and observations, and to connect it with his philosophy of living a productive, happy and fulfilling life. He is currently 'enrolled' in the LUKSPP - the Life University of Kirstenbosch and the Sea Point Promenade. Kirstenbosch is the National Botanical Garden in Cape Town, South Africa where he spends his Saturdays for breakfast with friends or just enjoying the garden all by himself. The Sea Point Promenade on the Atlantic Ocean side of Cape Town offers many lessons and many smiles!

In his early career he taught physics and mathematics in high school and then became a project manager in product development. After turning 40, completing an MBA and becoming a member of Toasmatsers International, he quit the corporate world and started his business, now known as Productivity Pit Stop.

Since then and up to this day, when he reads a book that inspires him, he connects with the author and collaborates whenever possible. Examples are The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (Stephen Covey), Patterns of High Performance (Jerry Fletcher), Paradoxical Thinking (Jerry Fletcher), Getting Things Done (David Allen), The Power of SLOW (Carl Honore), Taming The Paper Tiger (Barbara Hemphill).

He is currently creating a series of 60-minute reads for Kindle, which will drip into his Bookshelf in a steady fashion.
