Neelima Garg

Hello ! My name is Neelima Garg. Presently I am working as Head Division of Post Harvest management, CISH Lucknow. I did my M.Sc and Ph. D. (both in Microbiology) from Haryana Agri. Univ. Hisar. I joined ARS services as Scientist at CISH , Lucknow on 17.2.1988. Under IndoUS aid project on post harvest technology of fruits, I received 4 months Training in 1989, in the area of Fruit processing microbiology and Horticultural waste utilization, from Cornell University, U.S.A. I was promoted to the post of Principal Scientist on 27.7.06. I joined as Head, Division of Post Harvest Management in 2009 and again in 2015. I am recipient of Dr. J.S.Pruthi and Kezriwal Awards for the years 2000 and 2006 awarded by All India Food Processors Association. I have published research papers ( about 80 no.), Books (5 no.), Book Chapters (25 no.) Popular articles (30 no.) and abstract in seminar Symposia etc. ( 85 no.). I have guided ten M.Sc. and two Ph.D students. I have worked on various aspects of post Harvest Management of fruits viz. fresh fruit microbiology, value addition of fruits and fruit processing waste through fermentation and biocontrol of fruit diseases. My major contributions are development of aonla and guava ciders, bael wine, Mahua wine & vermouth, mango wine, probiotic products, use of fruit processing waste for production of enzymes, alcohols, biopigments etc.
