Deanna Larson

Raised in East Harlem, New York, Deanna Larson has enjoyed writing stories since she was ten years old. The first book she tried to write was about a young woman living in a tenement walk-up. Her name was Adar. Deanna's unfinished “novel” consisted of thirty-two handwritten pages on 3½ by 5 inch, notebook paper. Had it been typewritten, Deanna's debut novel would have filled all of two pages in her book! Many years, and dozens of stories and poems later, she focused on compiling a collection of fictional vignettes about a young girl growing up in East Harlem's bygone days. This time she accomplished her goal with, Good Morning East Harlem.

Deanna warmly invites you to visit her website, gmharlem.com where she shares nostalgic memories of her beloved East Harlem.
