David Ross

David Ross is the founding Executive Director for the SafeSchool Foundation. SafeSchool is a non-profit that focuses on school climate, culture and safety and advocates for policies and practices that make school a safe emotional and physical space for all learners.

Prior to SafeSchool, David worked as the CEO of the Partnership for 21st Century Learning and as the Senior Director for the Buck Institute for Education, where he created and directed the National Faculty and the PBL World Conference. David is the author of Models of Inquiry - Explained and the co-author of the PBL Starter Kit.

David began his career in education as a sixth-grade social studies and Language Arts teacher in an urban Los Angeles middle school. He moved to Napa, where he resides with his wife and two sons, to become an 11th-grade American Studies teachers at New Technology High School.

David has spoken at more than 50 conferences in 12 countries. He writes widely on education topics for a number of outlets, including a regular contribution to Getting Smart. He serves on a dozen board and advisory groups for both non-profits and for-profits.
