Jennie Eaglespeaker

Jennie is a Maritimer at heart who relocated out west to pursue Child and Youth Care Counselling in Alberta, Canada. Having worked in the social services field for 20 years, she took a hiatus to raise her two boys at home, while also creating and running an established day home. She is also the co-owner of Eaglespeaker Publishing with partner; Jason Eaglespeaker

This new adventure allowed her to see the world through much smaller eyes than the teenagers she typically worked with. This new insight propelled her passion for photography, telling the stories of her boys’ Blackfoot culture, cultural representation in children’s literature and learning more about the seed-to-table movement.

Jennie utilizes her photography by incorporating her pictures as the illustrations in her books. Jennie is also a gardening, quilting & sewing hobbyist.
