Sarah Holz

Sarah Holz was born Cleveland, OH, but grew up in Buffalo, NY, where the long winters gave her plenty of time to read and dabble in writing. She now lives in her adopted hometown, Pittsburgh, with her wife and completely ridiculous cats, all of whom indulge her tastes for obscure trivia and esoteric history. She still reads too much, but is trying to learn to balance that out with her rediscovered love of writing.

The author of seven books, her God’s Wife series is a historical fantasy reimagining of late Ptolemaic Egypt and early Imperial Rome, with a focus on the women of the period. She is also the author of three stand alone novels: The Flight of Virtue is an alternative history novel set in revolutionary France, and The Gourd and the Stars is a medieval romance about the fall of the Latin kingdom of Jerusalem. Her latest novel, Lady Safflower, is a supernatural historical fantasy set in Heian-era medieval Japan.
