Kate Minchin

Kate Minchin began her career producing and directing fringe theatre, before moving into operations management in theatres and arts centres in the north of England where she first experienced managing teams on a large scale. After completing a master’s degree in cultural policy and management, she moved to London where she managed multiple teams at the Natural History Museum in the education and operations departments.

During her time working for Historic Royal Palaces, Kate was based at Hampton Court Palace, leading a team of visitor services staff and their managers. While there she worked on one-off events such as the Olympic cycling in 2012. Kate also worked on projects that ranged from creating a wine-dispensing fountain to recreating a historic kitchen designed solely for the production of chocolate.

At the University of Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum, she was Head of Operations: her responsibilities included the visitor experience, security, building maintenance and health and safety.

Her major interest and motivation has always been ensuring that her teams receive high-quality training and support in order to perform at their best, as well as the opportunity to develop their careers in whichever direction they are most passionate about.

Kate now lives in the New York metropolitan area with her wife, Sue. Together they ride motorbikes all over the world, and drink far too much coffee.
