Vaidehi Krishnan, with a passion for Gender studies, Human Development, Nutrition & Health Education, believes that wellness within families is hinged around women’s pivotal roles; hence her emphasis on holistic development, particularly their emotional wellness. She has 18 years of experience in the development sector alone, handling diverse portfolios in the social space during her full-time involvement and freelance work with NGOs as well as other private institutions. Bouncing back after a twenty year-break as caregiver and home maker, her contributions are mainly in the areas of capacity building, training, conceptualization of training modules, communication and resource mobilization. Soon after graduating in Commerce, she followed her special fondness for health, nutrition, lifestyle modification and cooking well into later years; to finish her Diploma in Nutrition & Health Education and a Master’s Course in Rural Development, which had given her deep insights into rural India.
Besides fluency in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, she is keenly interested in Sanskrit, Indian Classical Carnatic music, poetry, reading, writing and spirituality. The lyrics, musical compositions and profound philosophical messages of St. Kabir Das and St. Thiagaraja inspire her. She has composed more than 250+ poems - now ready for publication.
Vaidehi runs an Indian non-profit Trust, Women’s Synergy, (WS), backed by two other women on board. She looks forward to synergies from individual and institutional stakeholders, for taking her mission to the next level.
