Arvind Kumar ‘Videh’

Born on 6th April, 1957 at a non-descript hamlet called Marahara situated in the Jewar tehsil of Gautam Buddh Nagar district, to a couple of modicum means yet endowed with higher ideals and noble intentions and having teaching as their profession, ‘Videh’ Arvind Kumar is a post-graduate in Physics and a senior banker - a retired one, that is. Despite having banking job as a means of livelihood throughout his life, he has been at heart a litterateur, a literary person with spiritual proclivities, even as, he is a regular practitioner of Vipashyana (Vipassana). He has as his hobby the reading of literary books of both English and Hindi, particularly, those of Nobel laureates. His favourite writer is Leo Tolstoy whose novel ‘War And Peace’ he has read thrice - cover to cover and is all praise for its sheer size, grace and beauty of style. He has been published in magazines like Kadambini long back and other stray magazines and English papers, but his busy job schedule didn’t let him blossom in full bloom , a deficiency which he has been trying to make good now in his retired life. Apart from having published many of his own e-books under multiple genre, he has also published ‘Search For Life’, the versified English translation of Hindi book ‘Hatyari Sadee Main Jeevan Ki Khoj’ an anthology by Mukesh Nirvikar. Another book - ‘Reality Of Invisible’ - is his versified translation of Ashwaghosh’s Hindi anthology ‘Adrishya Ka Yatharth’ and is in free verse both in Hindi and in English. He has many books in works for publication and is working on their manuscripts despite his advanced age and third innings! Presently settled in Lucknow and free from the existential worries, courtesy of the pension by his ex-employer, State Bank Of India, he is all for his first love these days and has been trying to express himself fully and give vent to his long suppressed feelings before exiting the next door to eternity. All for the Welfare of posterity, so that All May be Happy, Healthy and Peaceful on this lone planet nurturing life and ‘living’creatures!
