Valerie Devone-Grimes is a multi-talented creative whose gifts span crafting, jewelry design, cooking, and poetry.

Her passion for the arts shines through beautifully handmade cakes, custom wedding accessories, and expressive written work.

Over the years, Valerie has shared her knowledge and creativity with others by leading cooking demonstrations and hosting poetry classes, including a memorable program in 2008 that concluded with a celebratory event.

Her dedication to education extends into her community work, where she has supported both children in daycare settings and adults at the Queens Public Library in developing reading and writing skills.

Valerie pursued college studies for two years before dedicating 26.5 years of service to a nursing home in Flushing, Queens. During that time, she also demonstrated her entrepreneurial spirit by selling homemade meals and organizing bake sales and yard sales.

A respected and active member of her community, Valerie has appeared on QPTV, where she shares helpful tips on cooking, crafting, and poetry. Her warm personality and signature baking talents have earned her the affectionate nickname, “Cake Lady.”

Valerie is married to Rodney Grimes, and together they have one son, Isaiah Grimes. Her family continues to inspire and motivate her as she pursues her creative passions and life goals.
