Jamie, born James Biggerstaff Alcroft Jr. at North Side Hospital in Youngstown. Ohio in 1949, has been involved in theatre and the Performing Arts since that fateful day in January. He temporarily escaped theatres seductive ways in the '70s when on a visit to a horse ranch in Colorado, he became a Silversmith. Then on to Key West where he had a store on Duval Street and out of sheer boredom started dabbling in radio as the island's Morning Man. It was there he met Mack Dryden and soon he was one half of the comedy duo 'Mack and Jamie'. For the next 35 years, they performed on stages around the world. From Tonight Shows to 125 episodes of their own show, 'Comedy Break with Mack and Jamie'. A heart attack in 2005 weakened his heart but Mack and he kept performing. They amicably disbanded, in 2014. Thanks to his trusty pacemaker, Jamie had a normal life until 2017 when his heart failed. His subsequent admission into the transplant ward at Cedars Sinai didn't seem to be a valid enough reason to stop being funny so, he started writing in his diary every day. He frequently published them on Facebook It was a distraction for him and a surprise entertainment for his increasingly growing FB fanbase. Daily surrounded by mighty medical miracles. He got plenty of mental exercise doing multiple reps of emotional calisthenics all the while awaiting nothing but the unknown. It was a trip. Since 1985 he has been married to Ice Skating Choreographer Sarah Kawahara. They have three quite grown-up children and a growing grand-family.
