Matthew Yard

Matthew Yard was born in Burlington, Wisconsin in 1978, and grew up in the small city of Delavan in the southeast of the state. He has always been an exceptional storyteller, whether he was telling stories while around a campfire with his family and friends or writing them down for others to read. When he was 22, he enlisted in the air force. After basic training and tech school, he was sent in 2001 to serve at an air base in Yokota, Japan. His time there was divided between two trips to Iraq. While based in Japan, he met his wife Mayumi. They have three young daughters, who all love listening to him tell them stories. He began writing when he was in high school, mostly short stories and poems, and had many of them published in newspapers and contests, even though he had a learning disability which made writing longer works very difficult. Reading horror books helped him work through his struggles, and has led to this supernatural thriller romance. Soul Drinker is his first novel.
