Jakob Straub writes literary fiction in English and German. His stories focus on people on the edge of change: underdogs, quiet strugglers, and characters carrying grief, ambition, and unfinished business through the absurdity of ordinary life. His work explores the cost of wanting more when you can’t afford to fail.
In addition to his own fiction, Jakob works as a developmental editor and literary ghost, helping other writers shape their manuscripts. He occasionally publishes on storytelling, narrative structure, and the practical nightmare of sustaining a creative career. Originally from Lake Constance, Germany, he has lived in Berlin, Bonn, Barcelona, and the Pacific Northwest.
