Terry Pinaud

Khash Tonekaboni, who writes under the pen name, Terry Pinaud was born in Iran, a country rich in history and tradition. Born to a progressive family, he experienced both the freedom intellectual approach provides and the limitations tradition can impose.

He traveled to the United States for higher education and found that, in many ways, he always belonged here. He graduated from Indiana University and Memphis College of Optometry.

His fascination with fiction at an early age has been the fodder for his writing. Dumas, Twain, Hugo, Dostoevsky, and Tolstoy were some of his constant companions as he was being groomed for a life in the sciences. Inspired by his love for storytelling, he wrote his first short story at the age of eleven, and his first novel before he was eighteen.

His stories range from the mystery and mystical to the historical. They depict acts of kindness that inspire us, and frightful psychological impulses that unmask and lay bare the worst in human nature.

He has built a loyal legion of readers who encourage and support him to continue with his work. He writes constantly, working on multiple pieces at once. New ideas and stories, daily or historical events, and interesting people from different walks of life always inspire him. It is a train he hopes will never stop.

Khash Tonekaboni is an award-winning professor in optometric medicine at Indiana University. He lives and works in Bloomington, Indiana.
