Daniel Augusto Martins was born in Belém do Pará. He graduated in electrical engineering in 1972 at UFPA. He holds a Master's degree in Control Sciences from UFSC. He was a pioneer in hybrid computing. He was a celebrated professor at both universities. In 1979 he joined Centrais Elétricas do Norte do Brasil S.A. - Eletronorte as an engineer to participate in the development of the software of the central system of the Tucuruí Hydroelectric Power Plant. He was integrated into the teams of CGEE Alsthom in Paris where he worked for almost two years. He was the lead engineer in the development of the System Operation Center - COS of Eletronorte and worked at the Regional Operation Center of Belém - COR-BE until his retirement, after more than 32 years developing, maintaining and expanding operation centers of electrical power systems. Daniel is a Jurassic computer programmer and enthusiast in the development of dynamic web pages for the animation of industrial processes. He loves ANSI C, JavaScript, HTML, PHP and Python. He lives today in his homeland with his Maria, three children and four grandchildren.
