Alexander Utkin

I am a comic artist, illustrator and designer from Obninsk, Russia. I graduated from Moscow State University of Printing Arts in 2006 with a Master of Arts, and since then I’ve been working as a freelancer with such clients as Universal Music, Samsung, WWF, Russian TV channels, advertising agencies, publishing houses and rock bands.

Being a fan of comic books since my early childhood I’ve always dreamed of stepping in this creative field, but I’ve also had high expectations of my own work so it took me years to gain the needed skills and fearlessness to tell myself “Now you are ready!”.

In my Gamayun Tales I take a fresh look at old Russian folk tales and mix them with modern illustration to make something entertaining, warm and beautiful.
