Lifelong artist born in NJ. I enjoyed using some of those art skills in this book for the illustrations: drawing, painting, fine scale modeling and textile arts. The joy of many years creating miniature plants & flowers, which sold wholesale to dollhouse shops in NJ, NY, and CT has never left me. Have always loved working with children - to show them the absolute fun of miniatures...created with polymer clay & found items. Especially my 7 grand children! For visual scale of The Rock Kids illustrations, the main character Tyler is 5 inches tall. And the mascot puppy in the story, Zoey, is my own sweet pet. The Rock Kids books are dedicated to my dear grand daughter Cassie, diagnosed with Type I at age 3, and her daily diabetic journey. Personally, I never want to lose my GEE WHIZ or WOW for miniatures, and hope that along with The Rock Kids, young readers can learn some life lessons & have fun seeing miniatures. It's my hope to reach young readers on that level.
