Lewis J. Beilman III

Lewis J. Beilman III was born in Hollywood, Florida. He is the eldest of four children. His family moved frequently when he was younger, and he lived more than 20 places by the time he was 18. Although he spent most of his life in the United States, for three years he and his family lived in Germany, where he learned to play soccer, which remains one of his favorite hobbies.

Lewis began writing seriously as a teenager, but he mostly wrote poetry until his late twenties. Now he primarily writes short stories. His fiction has appeared in numerous literary publications, including Alien Buddha Press, ArLiJo, and Reed Magazine. His short story collections, The Changing Tide, The Lives of Animals, and America, don't you just love it?, and his children's book, Little Özil, are available on Amazon.

Due to his family’s frequent moves, Lewis attended eight different schools before he graduated high school. Lewis graduated magna cum laude from Sacred Heart University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law.

Despite his law degree, Lewis never practiced law. Instead, he worked a variety of jobs, including as a newspaper editor, intergovernmental liaison for a water management district, and a compliance officer for a multinational corporation. He currently works as a grant writer for a community health center in Connecticut.

Lewis lives in Palm Coast, Florida, with his animal companions.
