I've been using writing and storytelling my entire life to connect with people. In the past I've used more personal vehicles of doing this. In high school my friends would sometimes come to me and ask me to write them a one page story. For friends birthdays and special occasions I've written personalized book and poetry. In 2006 I first began writing to the vast ocean of the internet audience and was amazed to find that people I didn't even know appreciated and resonated with my writing. I prefer non fiction, and musing type works that help people start identifying and processing thoughts and emotions they might have previously been trying to ignore.

In 2012 I began working as a weight and health management coach. Most of my conversations with my clients revolve around identifying and analyzing the thoughts in their brains that are holding them back from creating a new life. I've put countless hours of study and training into understanding how and why our brains work like they do and how to retrain our actions and thoughts to create healthier outcomes. As much as I enjoy helping my personal clients, I've always had a desire to be able to reach more people and stimulate more thought and conversation so when I went through my own divorce in 2018, I decided to write down what was happening as a way to understand and process my own healing path. My divorce after a 17 year marriage was hands down the hardest thing I've ever gone through and unfortunately so many others experience this difficult time.

Henderson, Nevada has been my home since 2009 and it's where I'm raising my two amazing daughters as a single mom. My job allows me to travel extensively and my children are always rolling their eyes at me because I tend to strike up conversations with everyone and get us into all sorts of unplanned adventures. I love learning from the people around me and allowing myself to walk in others' shoes. Like so many others approaching middle age, the only thing I really know is that I don't know much so I try and keep my heart and mind open for learning and growth experiences and always question my thoughts and reactions. We are essentially a product of our thoughts and I love finding people who challenge me and help me grow. Writing has always been a way for me to clarify the noise in my head and my first published book, "Divorce A to Z: A Quick Peek at the First Year" is no exception.

I am so excited to have been able to team up with my amazingly talented sister, Annie Poon as the illustrator for my work. The two of us have talked about a collaboration ever since we were small and now that we've got one under our belt, we can't wait to produce more!
