Abby Randall

Abby Randall began writing fiction at a time that some would call "late in life", especially considering she had just recovered from Stage III breast cancer and the subsequent six months of radiation, six surgeries, and 35 radiation treatments had taken their toll.

"Well, I ain't dead yet," she thought and three months after the final surgery, she stood as erect as she possibly could and boarded a plane to Ecuador, South America. In the shadow of a volcano that overlooked Cotacachi, she began to write. And it was there, in that deep blue shadow, that she realized she wasn't actually writing at all. She was merely typing the words that were being sent to her, given to her by something much more than herself.

Her first book "Above the Snake Line", published as Janis Kent, was the culmination of short bits of blogs and thoughts and poems that tell the journey of her illness and her move to Ecuador.

"Abigail" is Abby's first foray into fiction. It is hilariously dark and funny and sad.

Abby now lives in Ecuador but considers New Orleans her home.
