I fell in love with mysteries when I was barely tall enough to reach the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew series on the library bookshelf.

Many years later, I fell in love with genealogy when my mother-in-law introduced me to historical research. She knew that her many-times-removed great grandfather had fought in the Revolutionary War. She wanted to put a permanent marker on his grave and asked for my help.

I never expected to combine both of these passions and write two entirely different fictional series – one featuring the young modern private detective Mindy Sue Mindy and the other fictional biographies of Colonial women. Then, I retired from a career of writing nonfiction… The rest, as they say, is history. When I’m not writing, I build dollhouses for children that have lost their original homes because of family tragedy.

I currently live in the Hill Country of Texas with my two furry felines, Smudge and Smidgeon – They have been known to wipe out entire chapters with the swipe of a paw. Any errors in my manuscripts I blame on them!
