I grew up on a council estate, nestled between the forests and foothills of the Welsh Valleys which were my playground. As an author I often get asked, where do you get the idea for a story? My answer is stories come from my Story Cauldron. Everyone has one, and it’s filled with all the books and comics you’ve ever read, all the films you’ve ever seen, all the games you’ve ever played and all the adventures you’ve ever had. Every cauldron is different, because everyone has got different experiences.

I love going on adventures, both in my imagination and in real life too. I’ve climbed to the peak of Kilimanjaro, journeyed across the Tibetan Plains to Mount Everest, skydived over New Zealand, and camped on the Great Wall of China in a lightning storm! All these adventures end up in somewhere in the stories I write.

These days you'll find me at home in the Forest of Dean. I often go adventuring under the canopy with my bouncy border collie, named Spock. My favourite colour is every shade of blue, and I was born the year the first person walked on the moon.
