Joseph Rene Corbeil

I am a professor and program coordinator for the fully online, accelerated Master of Education in Educational Technology at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Research interests include institutional considerations for developing e-learning partnerships, best practices in synchronous and asynchronous communication, enhancing social and teaching presence in e-learning, and developing and maintaining learning team collaborations in computer-mediated and virtual learning environments.

Pastimes include playing bass guitar, reading anything related to science, technology, and Sci-Fi, watching super hero and Sci-Fi movies, drawing, creative writing, and playing with technical gadgets.

I am a total computer geek! I love working with and on computers. I enjoy discovering new things on the Internet and experimenting with them to see how they can be used in education or to increase my productivity.

I have been involved in technology and distance education for over 36 years.
