Before becoming an author, I was involved in many successful businesses as an entrepreneur. Two are worth mentioning. I founded Help People, Inc. to increase sales through personal growth. Therefore, we had to develop completely new methods of training. We did and have more than 70 former employees who went on to start their own businesses. Many others have gone on to become major players in many of our large corporations. Secondly, I am known as the "Granddaddy of the suite-extended stay hotel industry." It is the largest segment of the entire hotel industry now. I trained many of the major players in this industry, including Kemmons Wilson, the founder of Holiday Inns, and Embassy Suites. Becoming an author has taken many of the skills I learned in business, mostly time-management. If you want to be an author, you have to manage yourself.
