The idea of writing a children’s book was born when I was worried with my son’s learning and development. After my own learning difficulties, I thought Scotty was on a similar path with difficulties in speech, reading and writing. With this in mind, Scotty literally inspired me to grab a pen and paper to start on an alphabet journey by using Scotty’s favorite playing topic, everything and anything to do with transport with wheels that whizz by, toys with wings flying high or toys splashing in his bath tub…

Each transport encouraged Scotty to learn the basics of the alphabet, vocabulary and numbers. Further learning was encouraged by night time stories, which started by creating stories with a corresponding letter of the alphabet to a mode of transport.

Trying to recall the story plot each night-time was a big ask not to forget parts of the story. The idea of having illustrated stories took Scott's learning to a new level but also a very costly idea to finish “A for Airplane” children’s book, decided to publish the illustrated stories, one letter (book) at a time.

A for Airplane children's book is the first in the alphabet “Scotty Adventure Learning” transport series from A to Z. There's particular excitement about the book launch because the topic was part of my childhood memories with my Dad as a pilot, and most of the family were or still have something to do with flying or on the aircraft maintenance side.

The aim is to complete the series of twenty six books by next year, with Z for zip wire, the last in the series of the transport adventure learning books.

Rob commented, "One of the hardest parts of the journey so far was negotiating with Scotty to choose one mode of transport for each letter of the alphabet. Scotty has too many favourites that clashed with the same letter. For example, the letter E, could have been an elephant as the main mode of transport, in the end Scotty creative ideas, the story turned into an amazing adventure of an electric car with an elephant in the story-line. We both can’t wait to read the finalized "E for electric car" children's picture book."

With the collection of ideas, Scotty Club was created with the main objective is to encourage children across the planet to engage into fun learning with cartoon character called “Scotty."

Thankfully, Scotty’s speech and learning development are fine, with all the families’ passion gone into each story-line. The dream is for the Scotty learning adventure series to become an icon of positivity, courage and a learning base for every child in the world.
