Paul Matts was previously the owner of The Attik underground music venue in Leicester (2001-2007) and promoted punk rock shows as 101 Productions. He was also the guitarist and songwriter in The Incurables.

His first novel 'Toy Guitars' was published by New Generation Publishing in 2021. It is a kitchen-sink family drama set in scruffy suburban England in 1980 involving family estrangement, adolescence and pregnancy against a backdrop of punk rock dreams. It is available at all major online retailers.

Another coming of age tale, 'Donny Jackal', set in the English punk rock suburbia of 1978, is already available as a novella in both paperback and as a E-book. Its main title character is also prominent in 'Toy Guitars'.

Paul's first non-fiction work, a track by track account of US punk supremos Rancid, is to be published by Sonicbond in June 2022. It is entitled 'Rancid On Track'.

Paul has also written the short stories 'Revenge Can Be Sweet', 'The Bench', 'Spade, Rose and Blood', 'Can of Worms' and 'One More Season'. He has also written the flash fiction pieces 'Wedding Shot over the Wire', 'Family Guy?' and 'Hollow Love'.

Paul is also a music journalist, focusing on punk and Jamaican music. Paul is a regular contributor to We Are Cult, Something Else Reviews, Punk Globe and Razur Cuts magazines.

Paul Matts is also a Goodreads Author.

Paul is married with two children and lives in Leicester, England.
