Edward B. Wile

Edward B. Wile was born in Wooster, Ohio and grew up on North Street. As a young child and then as a teenager he struggled with insecurities and anger issues. He was a troubled kid, and absent the influence of sports and the encouragement of several coaches this story probably ends in a graveyard.

Ed loved sports and Jack Peterson, his high school football coach, convinced him to go with him to Wofford College. No one in Ed's family had gone to college and this was clearly a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Ed earned a BA in Sociology and was a Hall of Fame football player while at Wofford College. After college, he married a pretty brown eyed girl and they now have two children and seven grandchildren. He later earned an MBA from Georgia State University, joined UBS and earned a CIMA from Wharton.

In 2014, after a 30 year career, Ed retired from UBS to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and finish Mean to Meaningful. He had been working on the book project for over a decade and it was time. There were still many challenges ahead, not counting his small vocabulary and limited writing skills. The book was finally completed and published in July of 2017.

This touching memoir chronicles an improbable, but rich journey. The failures, experiences, discoveries and successes are shared in colorful and often uncomfortable detail. It could be used as an inspirational guide for those seeking significance in life, love, marriage, parenting, or business. There is also priceless content for those dealing with the many obstacles, in life or business, that stand between failure and success.
