Lynn Monhollen was born in 1953 in the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky. He, and his older brother John, were the only two sons to follow their father, Corb, into the coal mines of Harlan County, Kentucky. The other five siblings chose different paths. After 42 years of working in the underground coal mining industry, the on-set of Parkinson's Disease caused Lynn's retirement.
His life-long desire to write is now unleashed. The watershed moment arrived with the release of his first publication titled "The Land Beyawned." Several other Children's stories are written, awaiting publication.
