Beret Olsen is a writer, a photographer, and the photo editor for 100 Word Story. Her art, essays, and fiction have appeared in publications including SmokeLong Quarterly, Flash: The International Short-Short Story Magazine, Masters Review, First Class Lit, and her blog, Bad Parenting 101.
A longtime educator, Beret continues to support low-income students via grant writing, copyediting, interviewing, and volunteering for Students Rising Above, 826 Valencia, and Teach for America.
Originally earning a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Carleton College, she went on to study art and editing at the Rhode Island School of Design, California College of the Arts, and UC Berkeley.
