Roberto Tostado MD

I grew up in Boyle Heights in East Los Angeles. My parents were born in the U.S but raised in Mexico before returning to Los Angeles where they met and started a new life. I went further east after high school to Columbia University for college and loved the humanities in art, literature, philosophy and music as part of my education. I was a rogue pre-medical student by not majoring in science but instead studying literature. This would help me later in life in writing my book. Medical school at the University of Michigan kinda sucked, not fun, realizing that there was too much emphasis on managing disease and keeping people on medication for the rest of their lives. I went on to complete my residency in family practice at the California Medical Center-USC and worked in family practice for 10 years including Kaiser in East L.A. I saw many sick people that remained that way for years until I had an epiphany! I took a leap of faith and went into a more natural approach to health by implementing nutrition as a basis for healing the body, seeing how much it helped me with my weight issues and high cholesterol. My clinic is called The IBODY in San Marino CA where my patients learn to reverse their disease with food detoxification, plant-based hormones and nutritional understanding to feel whole again! My book, WTF is wrong with our health? speaks of my journey and how we need a food revolution to empower ourselves and create a generation of regeneration, not degeneration.
