Follower of Jesus, passionate encourager, problem solver, coach, and mentor that has been called to make a positive impact on the mental, emotional, social, and spiritual lives of young people and the adults who influence them.

In 2013, Taylor was called to sell his companies and devote himself full time to pouring into the next generation. It was clear to him that young people needed an adult mentor. A true friend that would listen and not judge. Advise and not condemn. Encourage and not tear down. An authority figure to provide advice and guidance at times of crisis, a coach they could confide in without fear of impacting their playing time, and a spiritual mentor to speak truth when the world was feeding them lies.

Currently, Taylor serves as a character coach for an NCAA DII Men’s Basketball program where his role is to provide one on one mentoring, character building, community engagement, and mental skills development. Since 2013, Taylor has invested his time speaking and teaching student-athletes on topics of character, leadership, faith and mindset. His experiences of working with a variety of men’s and women’s sports at the middle school, high school, and collegiate level has given him a broad and unique perspective on the issues facing today’s young people and the guidance they need to persevere and thrive in their environments.

Moved by emotion and desires of inclusion, Taylor was baptized at age 8, but spent the next 20 years living a lifestyle that pleased himself and aligned with the values and applause of the world. In the summer of 2001, Taylor’s attempt to use God as a scapegoat turned into a defining moment in his life. Since that day 18+ years ago, he has dedicated himself to learning what it means to believe and then actually follow Jesus. In 2018, he wrote More Than a Believer, A Practical Guide to a Transformed Life, to tell his story and share the transformational lessons and processes he has learned with hopes it will encourage and inspire the current and next generations.

Taylor is a former college athlete, corporate employee, successful entrepreneur, public servant, worship leader, technology consultant, and aspiring inspirational liver of life. Taylor has been married to his beautiful wife Mindy for over 22 years. They have two teenage young men, Stuart and Austin, and live in Madison, Alabama.

Other fun facts: Taylor has lived in Belgium, worked in a mayor’s office, developed websites, played music for a living, has posted a daily personal commitment on social media every day since December 3, 2014 and sold two successful businesses to answer the call to follow Jesus.
