Patricia Ann Woolfork ( a/k/a “Trishann,” the poet) a Newark, New Jersey native, graduated from Weequahic High School, home of the late Philip Roth, poet, David Shapiro, and Reese Schonfeld, et al, in the top 10% of her class, and received her BA Magna cum laude majoring in English, Speech/ Theatre/Media and Secondary English Education and post-graduate Certification in Early Childhood Development PreK-3rd Grade also at Kean University.
As “Trishann”, a pen name which she chose and her performance persona, she has written hundreds of poems, essays, and short stories. In the past she sold over 240 copies of a self-published collection of poetry. She has also been recently published in “Voyages: An Anthology” available on Amazon and cbapub.com.
She has read all over the United States at libraries, churches, cable television, a jazz festival, a cancer benefit, and booked events at Livingston Mall and area nightclubs as “An Evening of Poetry and Jazz with Trishann & Friends.” She has been invited to perform at both weddings and funerals with her heartfelt, emotional portrayals of the human experience. She has also been published in several poetry anthologies and chat books.
“Trishann” (pronounced Trish–aunn) has long been recognized as the “sensual poet” because of her melodic voice and passionate renderings often accompanied by jazz. Her works cover the gamut of the human condition from birth to death, love, sexuality, relationships, joy, despair, and our commune with each other and Nature and Spirituality.
